School Uniform

Our School Uniform Policy

Stoke Heath Primary School requires all children to wear a uniform. This is fully endorsed by the Governing Body. The uniform requirements are as follows;

Compulsory items:

• Grey or black trousers or tailored shorts

• Grey or black skirts or pinafores

• White shirt or polo shirt

• Red jumper/sweatshirt or cardigan(school logo preferred but generic items are accepted)

• Plain black school shoes(trainers are not permitted)

It is important that even our youngest can dress and undress independently, so various fastenings should be kept to a minimum. T-shirts are easier to cope with than shirts, and pull-on joggers help with dressing and undressing.

Seasonal Items

• Red and white checked or stripped dress (optional)

• Outdoor coat/jacket (required)

PE Kit

PE Kit is to be worn only on the days of PE lessons

• Plain black shorts

• Plain black joggers

• Plain white T-shirt

• Plain red or school logoed hoodie

• Children’s own trainers or PE pumps

Swimming

Pupils having swimming lessons must follow the dress code of the swimming pool they attend.

• For girls this is a single piece swimming costume

• For boys a pair of trunks, not shorts.

• A swimming cap should be worn with long hair.

• If your child has a veruka then you will be required to provide a veruka sock.

Jewellery

On health and safety grounds , we do not allow children to wear jewellery in our school. The exceptions to this rule are,

• small plain gold or silver studs in pierced ears

• small discreet watches

• small objects of religious significance.

We may ask the children to either remove these objects during PE and games, or cover them in line with our PE/ Health and safety policies, to prevent them from causing injury

Smart Watches 

Children should not bring a smart watch to school due to their video and photo capture capabilities. 

Extreme Haircuts

The school does not permit children to have ‘extreme’ haircuts that could serve as a distraction to other children e.g shaved designs.

Please note make up and nail varnish are not permitted.
