Dinner money price increase from September 2025

Due to the rising costs of food and other catering expenses, we have had to increase the price of school dinners. From the beginning of September, the cost of a school dinner will be £2.50 per day. This will affect all students who pay for school meals, but will not impact those who are eligible for free school meals. We understand that this may be difficult news, especially with the current economic climate. If you are concerned about meeting the new cost, please contact the school office, as we may be able to offer some support. We appreciate your understanding and continued support. Your child may be eligible to receive free school meals if you are in receipt of:

· Income Support

· Jobseekers Allowance (income based)

· Employment and Support Allowance (income based)

· Guarantee Credit (the Guarantee element of State Pension Credit)

· Universal Credit (UC)

· Support under part V1 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

· Child Tax Credit, provided they are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have a total annual income (as assessed by HM Revenue & Customs) that does not exceed £16,190

If you receive Working Tax Credit only, your child is not eligible.

If you think that you may be eligible to continue with free school meals, then please speak to the school office who will be able to provide you with further details.
