🍽️ Lunchtime and School Meals
At our school, we have a special Family Service lunchtime. This means children sit together and enjoy their meals while learning about good manners and social skills. Children choose their meal during morning registration. We recommend that you look at the menu with your child(ren) so that they are aware of what they have to choose from.
🥪 Free School Meals
Children in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 can get free school meals through the Universal Free School Meals Scheme.
If your family receives help like Income Support or Job Seekers Allowance, your child may also get free meals. If you're not sure how to apply, please speak to the school office — we’re happy to help.
Even if your child brings a packed lunch or goes home for lunch, we still encourage you to apply for free meals. This helps the school get extra funding to support all children.
💳 Paying for School Meals
If you pay for school meals, please use the My Child at School App. If you need help setting it up, just ask at the school office.
Meals should be paid for by Monday morning each week. You can also pay for more than one week at a time.
The current cost is £2.50 per day.
📝 Who Can Get Free Meals?
Your child may be able to get free meals if you receive:
Income Support
Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
Income-based Employment and Support Allowance
Guarantee Credit (part of Pension Credit)
Universal Credit
Support under the Immigration and Asylum Act
Child Tax Credit (but not Working Tax Credit) and your income is below £16,190
If you only receive Working Tax Credit, your child is not eligible.
Packed Lunches
If your child is bringing a packed lunch to school, it should not include chewing gum, which is not allowed at any part of the school day, or sweets. Our Families Team can provide you with more advice about healthy packed lunches if needed. You can also find out some easy ways to make your child’s packed lunch healthier here.
